COURSE OUTLINE
Our DJ Academy courses provides in-depth knowledge and training for aspiring DJs, producers, beat-makers, remix artists & electronic musicians. The beginner to pro course is either a 4-week plan, or a consecutive 4-days with step by steps and 1 on 1 guidance the whole way. These courses are conditioning exercises: strengthening your foundations (think less, feel more). Our in-person lessons detail the ins and outs of everything from equipment setup, proper cable use, and basic DJing techniques to running your own live performance. We strive to provide the most precise in person, or in class lessons so you can DJ without thinking. We’re a DJ Academy that’s out to make learning the DJ art easier and more effective than ever. Our DJ lessons focus on the hardware and software that’s used by the top industry professionals, including Virtual DJ, Serato DJ & Algorithm's Djay, Cross DJ, VDJ Remote Apps, Tablet DJ Software & More. Our in-person, or in class lessons accommodate students of all skillsets, teaching techniques specific to your experience level.
DAY 1 - Cables, Audio Types, Frequency, Signal Levels, Tagging
We get to know your experience with DJ equipment, cables, and understanding how things work. This is extremely important to know as it can be the difference between great sound and a bad performance. You will also learn the difference between each cable. How each cable differs from its physical type to its purpose. You will learn decibel levels, frequency types, clipping, and how to properly tag an Mp3, Mp4, FLAC, OGG, Wav, and more file types.
DAY 2 - Equipment, Hardware, Software, Questions & Aptitude Test
Here you will learn the different DJ software that is available. You will be taught this software in depth. There will be simple test to find out what your capabilities are, so we can teach you advanced features to your mixing style. You will learn how hardware and software both work in a MIDI form.
DAY 3 - BPM, Beat Types, Sync, Bars, Beats, Grid Lines & Mixing Techniques
You will learn how to adjust grid lines for more precise mixing, cutting, and specific fades. You will learn what a bar and a beat is. This is extremely important for mixing. You will learn the difference between genres & beat types. In the program, you will find technical lessons, theory, set ups. DJ sets explained step by step, including FX parameters, tips and tricks developed over decades of a career DJ.
DAY 4 - Hands On Mixing, EQ Mixing, Level Faders & Advanced Techniques
You will learn EQ Mixing. You will learn how to set your level faders appropriately for how you are DJnig. You will learn advanced techniques, such as scripting your DJ Software. Furthermore, you will receive valuable advice on how to build your career, & book more quality leads. You will learn the industry tricks nobody wants to tell you from the mistakes industry professionals have already made & persevered through. You will also learn how to tablet mix using DJ software intended for tablets, and iPads.
We offer Beginner and Intermediate course.
All 1-on-1, in home private academy classes are subject to travel expense and lodging expense.

Classes may be taught in home, or in class.
